Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the Chef to Table application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
01 Who We Are
The Service is operated by Chef to Table (“Chef to Table,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Chef to Table is a food-inspiration and ingredient-discovery marketplace. We help you find recipes, match their ingredients to real grocery products, and assemble a shoppable cart that you complete through a third-party retailer.
We are a marketplace and discovery layer — not a grocery store, a delivery company, or a seller of goods. We do not own, stock, sell, ship, or fulfill any product. All purchases are made directly with third-party retailers (for example, Walmart) under their own terms, and all fulfillment, payment, delivery, returns, and refunds are handled by those retailers.
02 What the Service Does
The Service allows you to:
- Discover recipes from our curated library, from participating chefs and creators, or through search;
- View an ingredient list for a selected recipe;
- See those ingredients matched to specific grocery products, with prices sourced from a third-party retailer;
- Build a pre-populated cart and be redirected to that retailer to review and complete your purchase.
The matching of recipe ingredients to specific products, and the order in which products are presented, is performed by Chef to Table using our own selection and ranking logic, as described in Section 4.
03 Marketplace Nature of the Service
Chef to Table operates a multi-sided marketplace that connects three groups: (a) chefs, recipe creators, and content partners who supply recipes; (b) consumer-packaged-goods (“CPG”) brands and other commercial partners who may pay for product placement; and (c) you, the user, who discovers recipes and shops their ingredients.
Because we connect these groups, the products you see in the Service are influenced by commercial relationships. The presence of a product in a cart, or its position relative to other products, does not mean it is the cheapest, the highest quality, the most popular, or the most suitable for you. You are always free to change, remove, or substitute any product before completing a purchase at the retailer, and you are encouraged to do so based on your own judgment, dietary needs, and preferences.
04Sponsored, Preferred & Promoted Products
A core part of how Chef to Table operates is that certain products may be highlighted, prioritized, or selected as the default match for a recipe ingredient as a result of paid commercial arrangements or editorial/creator preferences. Specifically:
- (a) Sponsored placements.CPG brands and other commercial partners may pay Chef to Table a fee to have their product selected as the default, preferred, or prominently displayed product for a given ingredient slot (for example, a particular brand of olive oil surfacing as the default when a recipe calls for “olive oil”). These are paid placements and constitute advertising.
- (b) Chef-preferred and creator-recommended products. Chefs and recipe creators may designate specific products as their preferred choice for an ingredient. Where a chef earns a share of revenue generated by their recipes, their recommendations may be associated with a financial interest.
- (c) Our selection logic.The product matched to any given ingredient is determined by Chef to Table’s proprietary ranking and selection logic, which may take into account paid placement, creator preference, availability, price, relevance, and other factors. We do not represent that the default product is selected solely on the basis of price, quality, or suitability.
- (d) Disclosure.We aim to identify sponsored, preferred, or promoted products where they appear, consistent with applicable advertising and consumer-protection laws, including the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on native advertising and endorsements.
- (e) No endorsement of suitability. A product being sponsored, preferred, promoted, or featured is not a representation by Chef to Table that the product is safe, effective, of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose, or appropriate for your dietary, health, allergy, or religious requirements. You are solely responsible for reviewing each product before purchase.
You should assume that any default or prominently featured product may be the subject of a commercial arrangement. You remain free to change or substitute any item before checkout.
05Pricing, Availability & Product Information
Product prices, availability, descriptions, images, and other information shown in the Service are provided by, and sourced from, third-party retailers and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. The price and availability shown in the Service may differ from the price and availability at the retailer at the time of checkout. The price you actually pay, and the final terms of any purchase, are governed solely by the retailer at the point of sale.
We make no warranty that any product, price, or recipe match shown in the Service is accurate, current, or available.
06Food Safety, Allergens & Dietary Information
Recipes and product matches are provided for general informational and inspirational purposes only. Chef to Table does not verify the accuracy, completeness, safety, or nutritional content of any recipe, ingredient, or product, and does not provide medical, dietary, nutritional, or allergy advice.
You are solely responsible for:
- Reading the full ingredient list, packaging, and labelling of any product before purchase and consumption;
- Identifying and avoiding allergens, intolerances, and ingredients that conflict with your dietary, medical, or religious requirements;
- Ensuring that any recipe and its ingredients are safe and appropriate for you and anyone you prepare food for.
If you have a food allergy or medical condition, consult a qualified professional and rely on the official product packaging rather than information shown in the Service.
07Third-Party Retailers & Platforms
When you choose to shop a recipe, you are redirected to a third-party retailer to complete your purchase. Your relationship for the purchase of any product is solely between you and that retailer. Chef to Table is not a party to that transaction.
Chef to Table is not responsible for: the retailer’s products, prices, availability, payment processing, order accuracy, delivery, substitutions, returns, refunds, customer service, or compliance with law. Any disputes regarding a purchase must be resolved directly with the retailer under its terms and policies. We may earn affiliate commissions or other compensation when you complete a purchase through a link from the Service; see Section 8.
08Affiliate & Commercial Relationships
Chef to Table participates in affiliate and partner programs and has commercial relationships with retailers, CPG brands, chefs, and other partners. We may receive compensation — including affiliate commissions, placement fees, and revenue-share arrangements — in connection with your use of the Service, including when you view, add, or purchase products. This compensation may influence which products and recipes are shown and how they are prioritized, as described in Sections 3 and 4. Your use of the Service constitutes acknowledgement of these relationships.
09Chef & Creator Content
Recipes and related content on the Service may be supplied by third-party chefs and creators. Chef to Table does not author, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, quality, originality, or safety of chef- or creator-supplied content. Opinions, recommendations, and preferences expressed by chefs and creators are their own. Where a chef or creator has a financial interest in products they recommend, that interest is disclosed in accordance with Section 4.
10User Accounts & Conduct
If the Service offers account registration, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You agree not to misuse the Service, including by: violating any law; infringing the rights of others; attempting to access, scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service or its underlying systems (including our ingredient-to-product matching logic); introducing malicious code; or using the Service to build a competing product or dataset.
11 Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, ranking and selection logic, compilations, branding, and original content, is owned by Chef to Table or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Recipe content, product information, and trademarks belonging to third parties (including chefs, retailers, and brands) remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use Chef to Table’s or any third party’s intellectual property except as necessary to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on the Service without authorization.
12 Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR AVAILABILITY. CHEF TO TABLE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY RECIPE, INGREDIENT MATCH, PRICE, OR PRODUCT INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.
13 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHEF TO TABLE AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE; ANY PRODUCT PURCHASED THROUGH A THIRD-PARTY RETAILER; ANY RECIPE, INGREDIENT MATCH, OR PRODUCT INFORMATION; OR ANY FOOD-SAFETY, ALLERGEN, OR HEALTH OUTCOME.
CHEF TO TABLE’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CHEF TO TABLE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
14 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chef to Table and its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15Changes to the Service & These Terms
We may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be communicated through the Service where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION — to be set by counsel based on entity of incorporation], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in [VENUE], unless otherwise required by applicable law. 17 Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Chef to Table regarding the Service.
