01Who We Are & Our Role

Chef to Table operates a food-inspiration and ingredient-discovery marketplace that matches recipe ingredients to grocery products and builds a shoppable cart that you complete with a third-party retailer (for example, Walmart). We are the controller of the personal information we collect through the Service.

When you leave the Service to complete a purchase at a third-party retailer, that retailer collects and processes your information — including payment and delivery details — under its own privacy policy, not ours. We do not receive your payment-card details, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party retailer. See Section 6.

02 Information We Collect

2.1 — Information you provide to us

Account information (if you register): such as name, email address, and password.
Communications: information you provide when you contact us, submit feedback, or request support.
Chef and creator information (if you participate as a recipe creator): such as your name, profile details, recipe content, and payout-related information needed to administer revenue share.

2.2 — Information we collect automatically

Usage and activity data:the recipes you view, ingredients and products you see, items you add to or remove from a cart, “Shop this recipe” interactions, and cart sessions (a record that a shoppable cart was generated and engaged with).
Referral and campaign data: information from links you arrive through, including UTM parameters and campaign identifiers (for example, links shared via Pinterest or other marketing channels).
Device and technical data: such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, and general location inferred from IP address.
Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 7.

2.3 — Information from third parties

Product and pricing data from retailers and product data providers (for example, via the Walmart.io API), used to match ingredients to products and display prices. This is product data, not your personal data.
Analytics and advertising partners that help us measure performance and attribution.

We do not intentionally collect special-category or sensitive personal information. The recipes and products you engage with may indirectly reflect dietary preferences; we treat this only as ordinary usage data and do not use it to infer health conditions.

03 How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and operate the Service, including matching ingredients to products and building carts;
Redirect you to a third-party retailer to complete a purchase and to track that a referral occurred (including for affiliate-commission purposes);
Measure cart sessions, attribution, and campaign performance, including through an internal attribution dashboard;
Administer revenue share and provide performance dashboards to participating chefs and creators (see Section 4);
Provide reporting and measurement to commercial partners, including CPG brands, in aggregated or de-identified form (see Section 4);
Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service;
Communicate with you about the Service, including service-related notices and, where permitted, marketing;
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

04 How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described below.

(a) With third-party retailers. When you choose to shop a recipe, you are redirected to a retailer, and a referral identifier may be passed so that the resulting transaction can be attributed to Chef to Table (for affiliate purposes). The retailer then collects your purchase information under its own privacy policy.
(b) With chefs and creators. We provide participating chefs and creators with dashboards showing the performance of their recipes — such as cart sessions, engagement, and earnings. This reporting is provided in aggregated form and does not identify you individually.
(c) With CPG brands and commercial partners. We provide brands and other commercial partners with measurement and reporting about the performance of sponsored or featured placements. This reporting is aggregated or de-identified and does not identify you individually. Brands pay for product placement, not for your personal data.
(d) With service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf — such as hosting, analytics, data processing, and customer support — under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
(e) For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information where required by law, to respond to legal process, to protect our rights, users, or the public, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

The reporting we provide to chefs, creators, and CPG brands is aggregated or de-identified — it measures how recipes and placements perform, not who you are.

05 Legal Bases for Processing

Where data-protection law (such as the EU/UK GDPR) applies, we process personal information on the following bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service); our legitimate interests (to operate, secure, measure, and improve the Service and our commercial relationships); your consent (for certain cookies and marketing); and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

06Third-Party Retailers & Links

The Service contains links and redirects to third-party retailers and other third-party sites and services. Their collection and use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, which we do not control and are not responsible for. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any retailer or third party before providing information or completing a purchase.

07Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We and our partners use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, measure usage and cart sessions, attribute referrals and campaigns (including UTM-tagged links), and support marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through an in-Service preferences tool. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Service functions. Where required, we obtain consent before setting non-essential cookies.

08 Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Aggregated and de-identified data, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you, may be retained indefinitely.

09 Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. You may also opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.

California residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of certain sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

EU/UK residents: You may exercise the rights described above and have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

11Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

12 International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than the one in which you reside, including the United States. Where required, we put in place appropriate safeguards for such transfers. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations.

13 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above, and we will provide notice of material changes through the Service where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
