Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Cream the butter and 1/2 cup sugar together. Mix in 2 cups flour and salt until a dough forms.
Press the dough into a 9x13 inch baking pan and bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly browned.
Whisk together the eggs, 2 cups sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, and 1 cup flour until smooth.
Pour the lemon mixture over the hot crust and bake for another 20-25 minutes until the filling is set.
Let cool completely, then dust generously with confectioners' sugar before slicing into squares.
